Forward calls from a Bell, Rogers, or Fido mobile

Set your Bell, Rogers, Fido, or Virgin cell to pass calls to your receptionist, and set how long it rings first.

  • About 5 minutes
  • No technical skills needed
  • For: Owner-operators whose business number is a Bell, Rogers, Fido, or Virgin cell

Before you start, have these ready

  • The cell phone that owns your business number
  • Your Ringhero number
  • A second phone for the test
  1. Step 1: Find your Ringhero number

Sign in, open Phone, and look for your Ringhero number. This is the private number your calls forward to. Callers never see it.

Write it down or use the button that texts the steps to your cell, so you have it on the phone you will dial from.

    What you should see

A ten-digit phone number with your area code.

  2. Step 2: Decide when calls should forward

Overflow is the usual choice: your phone rings first, and the call forwards only if you are busy, do not answer, or your phone is off.

Choose always forward only if you want the receptionist to answer every call.

  3. Step 3: Dial the three overflow codes

Open the phone app on the cell that owns your business number. Type the first code exactly as shown, then press the call button. Wait for the confirmation, then do the next one.

Type your Ringhero number with the area code and no spaces or dashes.

    • When you do not answer

    • When you are on another call

    • When your phone is off or out of range

If a code does not work

Codes can differ by plan. If a code doesn't work, call your provider and say: please set conditional call forwarding on busy and no answer to <your Ringhero number>.

    What you should see

A short message on screen after each code saying that forwarding was registered or enabled.

  4. Step 4: Set how long your phone rings first

If the receptionist picks up too soon or too late, set the ring time. This version of the no-answer code forwards after 20 seconds.

    You can use 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 in place of 20.

    • Forward after 20 seconds with no answer

If a code does not work

Codes can differ by plan. If a code doesn't work, call your provider and say: please set conditional call forwarding on busy and no answer to <your Ringhero number>.

    What you should see

A confirmation message. On your next test call, your phone rings for about 20 seconds before the receptionist answers.

  5. Step 5: Or forward every call

Skip this step if you chose overflow. To send every call to the receptionist, dial this one code instead.

    • Forward all calls

    • Turn forward all calls off

    What you should see

A confirmation message. On most phones a small forwarding icon appears at the top of the screen.

  6. Step 6: Prefer menus to codes? Use your phone's settings

On an iPhone, open Settings, then Phone, then Call Forwarding. On an Android phone, open the Phone app, then its settings, then Calls or Supplementary services, then Call forwarding.

Enter your Ringhero number in the boxes for busy, unanswered, and unreachable.

    Note

Some phones only show the always-forward switch in settings. If you do not see busy and unanswered options, use the codes.

  7. Step 7: Test it

From a different phone, call your business number and do not pick up. After about 20 seconds the receptionist should answer.

    What you should see

A greeting that names your business and says it is an AI assistant. The Phone screen in your dashboard turns green.

This guide was written for the beta. If a screen is named a little differently from what you see, the steps still apply in the same order.

Hear it answer your business

Upload your price list to the demo and talk to it in under a minute, or set up Ringhero in about 15 minutes and call your own number.
