Forward calls from a Telus or Koodo mobile
Set your Telus or Koodo cell to pass calls to your receptionist when you are busy, do not answer, or are out of range.
- About 5 minutes
- No technical skills needed
- For: Owner-operators whose business number is a Telus or Koodo cell
7 steps in this guide
Before you start, have these ready
- The cell phone that owns your business number
- Your Ringhero number
- A second phone for the test
Step 1: Find your Ringhero number
Sign in, open Phone, and look for your Ringhero number. This is the private number your calls forward to. Callers never see it.
Write it down or use the button that texts the steps to your cell, so you have it on the phone you will dial from.
What you should see
A ten-digit phone number with your area code.
Step 2: Decide when calls should forward
Overflow is the usual choice: your phone rings first, and the call forwards only if you are busy, do not answer, or your phone is off.
Choose always forward only if you want the receptionist to answer every call.
Step 3: Dial the three overflow codes
Open the phone app on the cell that owns your business number. Type the first code exactly as shown, then press the call button. Wait for the confirmation, then do the next one.
Type your Ringhero number with the area code and no spaces or dashes.
Telus and Koodo use the same network, so the codes are the same.
When you do not answer
**61*your number#
When you are on another call
**67*your number#
When your phone is off or out of range
**62*your number#
If a code does not work
Codes can differ by plan. If a code doesn't work, call your provider and say: please set conditional call forwarding on busy and no answer to <your Ringhero number>.
What you should see
A short message on screen after each code saying that forwarding was registered or enabled.
Step 4: Or forward every call
Skip this step if you chose overflow. To send every call to the receptionist, dial this one code instead.
Forward all calls
**21*your number#
Turn forward all calls off
##21#
What you should see
A confirmation message. On most phones a small forwarding icon appears at the top of the screen.
Step 5: Prefer menus to codes? Use your phone's settings
On an iPhone, open Settings, then Phone, then Call Forwarding. On an Android phone, open the Phone app, then its settings, then Calls or Supplementary services, then Call forwarding.
Enter your Ringhero number in the boxes for busy, unanswered, and unreachable.
Note
Some phones only show the always-forward switch in settings. If you do not see busy and unanswered options, use the codes.
Step 6: Test it
From a different phone, call your business number and do not pick up. After about 20 seconds the receptionist should answer.
What you should see
A greeting that names your business and says it is an AI assistant. The Phone screen in your dashboard turns green.
Step 7: Keep the codes handy
Print the steps from the Phone screen or save the text we sent you. A change to your phone plan or a new SIM can reset forwarding, and you will want to set it again quickly.
This guide was written for the beta. If a screen is named a little differently from what you see, the steps still apply in the same order.
